We decided to celebrate Leap Day today, since it only happens once every 4 years! We made these cute frogs to hang from our clips. We had a blast making them this afternoon! Thanks for letting me show yours off, Kendal! It sure is **extraordinary**!

WOW Wednesday

Happy WOW Wednesday, Top Dogs! Today's new WOWs are from the book An Extraordinary Egg by Leo Lioni. Practice using these WOWs when you are talking with your families at home.

impress

My Tog Dogs impress me everyday because they are extraordinary learners! They are triumphant in everything they try to achieve - whether they are on the hockey rink, wrestling mat, basketball court, dance floor, or in The Doghouse!

Your Proud Teacher,

In Our Classroom . . .

Here is a sign that has been hanging on our classroom wall since before Christmas. We try to live by everything that is on this sign everyday to be great bucket fillers. I think it is an accurate representation of what happens in The Doghouse everyday. I did the writing, and the kids did the coloring. What do you think?

Ciao for now,
Mrs. Delzer :)

I took this picture of Madi Mae today after I said "cheese". She loves cheese, and the second I say the word, she licks her nose. I thought I'd share, hoping it will make you smile today!! See you in 2 days, Top Dogs!

PS Don't forget to read for your 20 minutes this weekend and try the phonics sort!

Cat in the Hat Art

Last week, we worked VERY hard on making our Cat in the Hat projects! First, we sketched the Cat in the Hat's using pencils (I found an easy to follow 4-step process online). After they were happy with the sketch, they went over it in black marker and colored the hat and bow tie red. The next day, we painted the blue background and worked hard on blending the colors from dark blue to light blue. This was messy, but fun! When the paint was dry, we cut out our Cat in the Hat's and glued them on the background. Teresa, our classroom helper, finished them off by laminating all of our art. This project was hard work, but we are VERY proud of how they turned out!

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!!

:) Mrs. Delzer

A Super Mystery Reader

Thank you Laura (Morgan R.'s mom) for visiting our classroom yesterday to be our Mystery Reader! It was so fun to listen to your story about dogs and your answers to our questions. Mystery Readers are one of our favorite activities that happen in our classroom! If you are interested in signing up, there are dates still available in March, April, and May. It takes 20 minutes, and is a powerful way to show your child that reading is important and enjoyable! We love when our families visit us during the school day!

Thank you, Laura!!!
