We LOVE Henry and Mudge!

Hi Top Dog Families and Friends!

We have been launching our Reading Workshop with Lucy Calkins first unit of study and Daily 5! We have been building our stamina everyday, and are now able to read 25 minutes uninterrupted during Read to Self.  We learned that stamina means doing anything for a long period of time without stopping.

We also love Read to Someone and Listen to Reading on our iPads! To help us get rolling with Reading Workshop, we have been reading lots of Henry and Mudge books and incorporating some of Amy Lemons' activities that focus on retelling and sequencing a story! I love all of her products!

Here are some pictures of our favorite Henry and Mudge projects! Click the pictures to make them bigger!

Blake is showing his writing about Mudge!

Tabor loved Henry & Mudge Take the Big Test! He is showing his Beginning, Middle, and End dog bowls that he wrote on to retell the story!

Here is Carlie's finished Beginning, Middle, and End project!
Here is a sequencing collar we made after reading Henry and Mudge and the Happy Cat! The kid thought it was so funny that the cat was named Dave! :) This project focused on sequencing key events in a story.
