Five for Friday - Oregon Style

Hi friends! Thanks for stopping by our blog! Are you following us on Bloglovin yet? You won't be able to follow our page using the Top Dog Fan Club widget starting July 1!

<<---- Click the Bloglovin button to follow us today! :)

Here is this week's Five for Friday by Doodle Bugs Teaching, Oregon style (see #5)!

1. I FINALLY got to meet Holly Hoffman in person! She has Skyped with my class for three years in a row and spoke about her experience on the TV show Survivor! She is now a motivational speaker, and travels around the United States spreading her joy! She is such a strong-willed, positive role model for people of all ages! What a blast!

2. I was asked to present on iPads and Apps for the Primary Grades at the NWSC this week. I had such a good time teaching teachers about rolling out iPads in a primary classroom, iPads and how I integrate them in my teaching, sharing apps I can't live without, and how to manage and iPad cart! I brought in 8 Top Dogs from my class this past year to be the experts in the afternoon. They did an amazing job teaching these teachers how they use iPads and apps in 2nd grade! I was definitely having a *proud teacher moment*! :) Thanks to the NWSC for asking me to present! :)

Here is Annie helping Shelly! :)

Ava had 2 teachers to teach!

These 2 teachers LOVED Jillian!

Grace was a great helper for her teacher!

Lydia was all smiles! She did a fabulous job!

Kendal worked with these 2 teachers from Clearbook!

Mandi was a rockstar teacher!

Brea is great at explaining her teaching!

Group pic! Girls day! :)

3. My dad and I had a great time in Ashley, ND at their big Quasquicentennial party! Mr. Delzer grew up there, and so did my dad! Happy 125th birthday to the town of Ashley! Thanks for hosting 4 days of fun!

4. I have been spending lots of time out on my porch working on grad school! I only have 2 more weeks left of my summer classes! I can't believe how fast summer is going by!

5. We made it to OREGON after 24 hours in a car! My sister lives out here and we came to visit her and see her brand new house! I get to see my sister about two times a year, so you know I am going to soak up every second I have with her! :) Here is the view from her hot tub this morning! You can see the three Sisters (Faith, Hope, and Charity) mountains, Mt. Bachelor, and Broken Top! I love it out here!

Five For Friday ~ June 21

Here is this week's Five for Friday with Doodle Bugs Teaching! :)

1. I have been having fun with Mr. Delzer's sister-in-law, Mary! We are in Ashley celebrating their 125th anniversary! Mr. Delzer's whole family is from Ashley, and so is my dad! It has been fun getting to visit with everyone!

2. We went crazy with landscaping this week. We added a flowerbed to the backyard and front yard. It all started with a plant sale! I am loving my new hostas and flowers. The hard work definitely paid off!

Just waiting for the grass to grow around it now!
LOVE these bright pots!
Check out my cute little owl I got from Mrs. Finger this year! :)
3. The puppies had a great week! They got haircuts and had some time to relax and go for a ride to my parents' house in ND! They love summer!

4. Mrs. Johnson and I hit up Grand Forks last Saturday! Of course we went shopping for our classrooms and went to Kittson! Here are two of my many purchases that day. Do you notice a pattern?? :) Buying things for my classroom got me fired up to organize the big things in my classroom. I arranged the tables, lounge and library this week, too! I won't start hanging up everything until probably the end of July or early August, but I AM EXCITED!!!

5. GOLF CAMP! I helped teach kids how to play golf on Monday! A couple of the Top Dogs were there. Do you recognize them?
Yep! It's Grace and Annie! :)

Annie is a golfing rockstar! She hit it further than most the boys, too!

Grace is a natural! She must get her golfing skills from dad? :)

Brooke came to help out! I love this picture of her and Annie! :)

Happy Father's Day, Dad!

Happy Father's Day to the best dad in the whole world. I mean it, he's the best! :) He made me who I am today, and I am so lucky to call him MY dad.

Some of my favorite things to do with dad are: travel around the USA, go on motorcycle rides, go for long walks, watch the Twins, and watch movies. As a kid, my favorite memories of dad include him coaching me in basketball, watching me play sports, practicing spelling words for the spelling bee, reading Boxcar Children books, and learning how to play the clarinet.

My dad is one talented, patient man!

Thanks for being so amazing, dad! I love you lots!

I love this picture of us! Our photographer got it right before I was about to walk down the aisle! :)

Five for Friday ~ June 14

Hey Top Dog Followers and Fans! Thanks for checking my little blog! :)

Here is this week's five for Friday by Doodle Bugs Teaching! :) If you haven't stopped by her blog yet, you should! She makes a ton of cute stuff for teachers like me!

1. Have I mentioned that my mom has been my number one cheerleader and teacher mentor? She is a kindergarten teacher in North Dakota, and has taught me most of the good stuff I know about teaching and kids.  She is honestly the BEST teacher that I know! :)

For the last five summers, my mom and I have met up in Grand Forks for ARTFEST! It is one of my favorite days of the summer, and we started it off right at Starbucks! Here are some pictures of my purchases from that fun day! :)

Our house is painted! No more banana split! :)
I love custom necklaces! :)
2. Here is a sneak peek at what my classroom theme will be next year. It combines my two favorite things: CHEVRON and PUPPIES! I have been printing, laminating and cutting already and I am SOOOO excited to get back in my room and get organizing, unpacking and creating! :)

CUTE!
WHY, WHY, WHY does Dudley insist on laying right on top of my laminating?
I am IN LOVE with these!!!!
3. I spent 10 hours on Wednesday and Thursday with the LITERACY TEAM! We had some great discussion and got a lot accomplished. I love looking at data! Does that make me weird? We talked about adopting the Fry List for our High Frequency Words and maybe adopting Words Their Way by Pearson for spelling. Do any other teacher bloggers out there use this? Do you like it? What are the challenges it brings?

4. GRAD SCHOOL - I taught our egg drop lesson to all of the other teachers in my science class on Tuesday and I just found out I got 40/40 points! Can I get a "Whoop! Whoop!" Everyone loved that project! I think there will be lots of other teachers and classes around the USA next year dropping their egg devices! I love it! I also got my books for my math class and I have been digging into them! We worked on word problems and problem solving in math, and I learned lots about teaching kids about code words and problem solving strategies.

A little math humor for you thanks to Pinterest! :)
5. SUMMER WEATHER - FINALLY! LIFE IS GOOD! :) We have had really nice weather this week and I have been spending a lot of time outside on my front porch. I'm loving drinking my coffee out there every morning. Check out this awesome mug I got from Jilly for an end of the year gift! You put your hand right in and it keeps it warm! GENIUS! :)

LOVE my view! :)
