Five for Friday {Saturday Style}

It's Five for Friday time with Doodle Bugs Teaching
Here are five random things happening in my life! :)

{ONE}
Last week I went to Fargo with these girls and had SUCH a ball! Do you recognize any of them? On the left is Kayla. I golfed with her at UND, and we are still great friends even 6 years later. Then, it's Mrs. Schantz, Amanda, Mrs. Johnson, and Mrs. Skjerven! We went to Art and Learn, the mall, Hobby Lobby, TJ Maxx, and Bed Bath and Beyond! It was a perfect day with these lovely ladies! Good friends are such a blessing!

{TWO}
The mister and I went to the cities last weekend! We hit up lawn bowling, the Mall of America, Ikea, and a Vikings game! It was perfect weather and company! So much fun! :)

{THREE}
We had a mini class reunion this week and it was so much fun! Our helpers even came to see everyone! We played kickball, hung out with Madi, Duds, and Easton, and had some ice cream! I will miss these kids so much this year! What a great group of kiddos! :)

{FOUR}
The mister and I went out on the river for the first time last night with Mrs. Skjerven and Mr. Skjerven! It was so cool to see our town from the water. We parked the boat at the golf course and played 9 holes afterwards! It was a beautiful night to be outside! Mrs. Skjerven teaches 2nd grade in a school nearby! I have so much fun sharing ideas with her!

{FIVE}
We are puppy sitting for the Schantzs this weekend! Cuddy loves coming to visit Madi and Duds! They are best friends!

That's all for now! Thanks for visiting my blog! :) Have a super rest of your weekend!

Teacher Week '13: Classroom Digs

Today's blog post for Teacher Week '13 is all about our classrooms! My classroom has everything up on the walls, but I still have a lot of organizing left to do. We have 3 weeks left until the first day of school, and less than 2 weeks until our first teacher inservice day!

Here's a small sneak peek of my room so far...

I love my tissue paper tree next to my doghouse! Duds has been a good helper out at school!
This is above my writing center! You can get the pencil from The Teacher Wife, and the writing center examples from A Cupcake for the Teacher! :)

Here is the first thing my new little Top Dogs will see when they walk in the classroom! The black sign says Live. Laugh. Bark! The yellow sign is a picture of my pups that says "Dogs laugh with their tails."
This is my behavior chart. I will add clips with each Top Dog's name when I get my final roster.
Here's a picture of my CAFE menu and lounge.
Thanks for visiting my blog and checking out my classroom! Stay tuned for more pictures! :)

Blog Hoppin' for Teacher Week

This is my first time being a part of a Blog Hop! You can click the button below to go back to the Blog Hoppin' Website, and hop around to other blogs sharing in Teacher Week '13.

 Monday is "Let's Talk About Me! ~ Meet the Teacher", so here are 10 random facts about ME! :)
1. I have two crazy, funny, sweet, and sometimes naughty puppies that I love more than anything. Madi Mae turns 4 in October, and she is a Schnoodle. Dudley aka Duds (very appropriately named, I might add) is a Shorkie, and he turned 3 in March.

2. I am married to a third grade teacher at my school. We met playing in a golf tournament against each other. When we met, he was finishing his degree and I was already teaching. We got really lucky to have him get hired at my school! We love it here! :)

3. I coach the Varsity girls golf team in the spring! I have played golf since I was old enough to drive the cart, and all the way through college. I am still close friends with the girls I played with at UND, and I love playing the sport. I don't have enough time to play it like I used to, which can be frustrating!

4. Hockey is my favorite sport to watch. I love college hockey and the Minnesota Wild. I also like the Chicago Blackhawks (mostly because Jonathon Toews is their captain, and he played for UND). I joke that hockey is the only thing I like about winter, but that's only partly true. Our winters are long and cold here in Minnesota! My husband is also a basketball coach. Basketball season happens to be the same time as hockey season.... we might have a problem in the future!

5. I think I was made to teach. I can't imagine doing anything else in the whole world. My mom was my kindergarten teacher, and I knew since then I wanted to teach! My dad was my music teacher from grade 5 until I graduated high school.

6. I have a chevron obsession. Anyone who knows me knows I love everything chevron. Lots of people this summer have sent me pictures of items with chevron print and told me "thought of you right away!" My classroom this year is a dog theme with lots of chevron, polka dots, and buntings! I love it!

7. I drink a lot of coffee! My kids at school ask me why I like coffee so much, and I tell them I drink it so I can keep up with them! Last year we were graphing our favorite foods, and I asked my kids what they thought my favorite food was. One boy raised his hand and said, "That's easy, Mrs. Delzer, it's COFFEE!" I laughed until I had tears streaming down my face. My town doesn't have a Starbucks, but I have a Keurig and I brew up Starbucks Blonde coffee every morning. Getting to a real Starbucks is a treat for this girl!

8. I have a sister that is a real life CSI. She gets to live in the most beautiful city in the world: Bend, Oregon. She will tell you her job is nothing like the TV show, and not everything is solved with the blessed blue light! I think Tori and I are a lot alike, but I would not last 5 minutes at her job! She's the peanut butter to my jelly, and I love her lots!

9. I like to shop. A LOT. I love going to Grand Forks or Fargo with my friends to shop for clothes and my classroom especially. My favorite store is Kittson. It's a cute little boutique with lots of unique clothes. I have bought a lot of chevron there! :)

10. I've turned into a little crafter this summer! I love making projects from "junk" that turn out very shabby chic! I've made lots of wedding gifts, projects for my classroom, and wall hangings for my house this summer. My latest project was glitter clothespins!

There's my 10! If you're a teacher blogger like me, link up and introduce yourself! I love all my new friends I have made through blogging this summer! Thanks for reading all about me and visiting my blog! :)

Monday Made It ~ August 5 Already!?!

I'm linking up with Fourth Grade Frolics again to share a couple creations from the past week! Click her button to see over 100 other teacher blogs that have already linked up, and it's only 11:30am! Amazing!

{MADE IT #1}
This is my newest behavior clip chart for my classroom this year. I'm trying to decide whether to put it in my TPT shop or not. I wonder how many other teachers do dogs as a theme!?  Once I get my final roster I will add my clothespins to it with each child's name! :) Less than 30 days until I meet my new little Top Dogs! :)

{MADE IT #2}
My chevron key words for problem solving are in my TPT shop! You can pick up yours for $1.00 by clicking here to go to my shop! I'm excited to have these posted on my math bulletin board all year! :)
{MADE IT #3}
Remember the LOVE letters I made for my home last week? Here are some that I made for a wedding gift! I found out they have some red in their house so I picked out this paper for their letters. I think they turned out nice! :)

{MADE IT #4}
I'm not sure I can really call this "made it" but I think they are cute! My kitchen has owls, coffee cups, and bright colors. I picked up these lanterns at IKEA last March when we went to the Final 5 hockey tournament in the cities, and I just had them sitting in my kitchen. I added some twine and hung them from a hook in the ceiling, and so far I'm liking them. The mister hasn't seen them yet, I'm sure he will have a few comments about them! :)

Thanks for visiting my little blog! Less than 200 page views to go until I hit 20,000! I can't believe it! Thank you, thank you, thank you! :)
