Good Luck Tonight Zane & ND Hockey Team!

Yesterday, the Top Dogs made a video for Zane to tell him good luck in his big game against Wisconsin (they knocked off the top seed 5-2)! We also wanted to comment on his playoff beard he is growing until they are done playing this season! Even though all the kids agree Zane looks better without a beard, we hope he can keep it growing until UND is the national champion! UND needs to win tonight to advance to the Frozen Four!

If you want to read more about Zane's continued connection with our classroom, you can click {here}to see his visit in December. What a special role model for little Prowlers everywhere!

Here is the video we sent to Zane:

And, here is the video Zane sent back to us before his big game:

We are SOOO proud of you, Zane! Keep up the great work! Thanks for taking the time to make these 24 kids feel so important and special! They all look up to you and are cheering you on tonight! Go Sioux!

We Love Mystery Readers!

We LOVE our Mystery Readers every Friday! Last week Max's mom came in and brought baby Harper with her. She read 3 awesome books while I got some baby snuggles in! It was a win-win! Our Mystery Reader this week is a special friend of mine that played football at NDSU and won a national championship. Does anyone have any guesses who it could be?

It's not too late to be a Mystery Reader this year! Open dates include: April 25, May 2, May 9, May 16, and May 23! Please sign up today! :)

Students Teaching Students

If you've ever visited our classroom or seen me present at a technology conference. you know I am a firm believer in students teaching students (and teachers). This is especially true when it comes to technology! The success of a classroom does not depend on the knowledge of one expert, but rather the knowledge of 25 experts! Everyone is an expert about something. Give kids the opportunity to be the expert and share what they know with the world.

On Friday, Becca taught the class how to use our new app Stack the States. I love this app because it helps prepare students for what they will need to know about the USA in 3rd grade and 4th grade. Thank you Becs for being our expert!

Update: Nominated!

Thank you so much, Ashley from Schroeder Shenanigans in Second for nominating me for my first Sunshine Blogger Award! The Sunshine Blogger Award goes out to teachers that bring sunshine to the world. I am so blessed to be able to network with teachers around the world that help me grow, inspire me, and challenge me. I love the ideas I get from them, and that I can share my ideas with other teachers around the world. There is nothing cooler than seeing my ideas in classrooms all over the place! Ashley comes from Ohio, and I met her through Instagram.

I also received the award from the awesome Angie at Lucky Little Learners. I met her on Instagram and she teaches 2nd grade in Frazee, Minnesota. I am excited to meet her this summer at one of my technology camps where I will be a presenter! Thanks for the nomination, Angie!

Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!

We had an awesome day celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday and reading some of his books! Dr. Borgen was a guest reader, and he was so fun to listen to! We even got a class picture with him!

Kenny borrowed Kemper's hat during math stations today and I had to snap a picture! :)

Words of wisdom from Dr. Seuss...
