Hi Top Dogs! I hope you are all having a wonderful break with your families! Mr. Delzer and I are still in Bismarck, but we will be back in Thief River Falls tomorrow. On our break, we went skating at the Ralph Engelstad Arena in Grand Forks, out to eat with Mr. and Mrs. Schantz, visited my parents and brother in Lakota, ate lunch with my Grandma in Jamestown, and even watched a circus in Bismarck with Mr. Delzer's family. I love the elephants! Madi Mae and Duds are having a great time playing with the other puppies in Bismarck, too. I can't wait to hear about the things you are doing on your vacation!
I am so excited to see you all on Tuesday! We will start writing our Nonfiction books, and learn about how readers read Nonfiction books differently than fiction books. Can you tell your families some of the features of Nonficiton texts that you have learned? Here are some that I can think of: headings, subheadings, bulleted lists, maps, bold text, colored text, italicized text, captions, photographs, table of contents, index, glossary, diagrams, labels, and titles. I think I am missing some. Can you help me out? I will have prizes for you on Tuesday if you can tell me any of the features I am forgetting! Good luck!
Mrs. Delzer :O)
PS I will be hanging up a very cool surprise in our classroom on Tuesday! Get excited! :)
