WORD ATTACK Strategies


We have been working in The Doghouse on what good readers do when they get stuck on tricky words. We have learned lots of strategies to use when we get tricked, and some of them are listed below. Knowing word attack strategies helps us be better readers because it improves our accuracy (reading the right words). We are filling up the A (which stands for accuracy) on our CAFE Menu in our classroom with lots of juicy word attack strategies. I would encourage parents to use this same language and try these strategies at home! Thanks a bunch!
