The Great Egg Test

"Technology is the air they breathe." -Marc Prensky

This year, our class will be using 6 iPads everyday! I am SO excited to share the possibilities that iPads provide with our students. I have seen first hand the improved test scores, engagement, motivation, creativity, and so much more. iPads will allow me to bring the world to our students every single day!

Having iPads in our classroom is a huge responsibility, and before the students were allowed to use them, they had to pass the egg test! Of course, the students also made the iPad rules and signed them like a contract.

To find out more about the egg test, or incorporate the egg test in your classroom, you can watch our movie trailer here:

If you decide to do the egg test, be prepared for some cracked eggs! That's the true beauty of this whole project. Each time an egg breaks, be sure to talk about what happened and how to improve. Make it a teachable moment!

Here are some things we learned:
1. Don't take your egg out of the cup. You wouldn't take your iPad out of the case.
2. Don't leave your egg or iPad on the edge of a table.
3. Carry your egg or iPad with two hands!
4. Don't run with your egg or iPad.
5. When walking in the hallway with your egg, look where you are walking and not at the egg or iPad!
6. Be gentle!
7. Carry one thing at a time! Don't try to carry your iPad with anything else.

Thanks for visiting our blog! We are looking forward to sharing many more posts about our iPads this year.

  1. Love it! Your movie is fabulous, very professional looking and the kids are adorable with their eggs.

    1. Ahhh, thanks Beth!!! :) We used iMovie on iPad to create the whole thing!

  2. This video is awesome!! I love the idea of the Egg Test to earn your iPads. The video is so well-made and the kids are so excited to be a part of it. Don't you just love it when they take ownership of their learning! Amazing stuff!! :)

    1. THANK YOU!!!! We have had ZERO issues since roll out thanks to the egg test! I'm so excited to see what this year will bring for these kids thanks to the iPads. Thanks for the comment.

  3. I also have 6 iPads! What are you going to use them for and how? I'm always looking for new and innovative ways to use them! I love that you have the minis!

  4. How long did you have your kids take care of the eggs? Also, did you hardboil them first? I love this idea!

  5. Right now you’re probably reading this message because you’re desperate to finally learn how to not only train your dog quickly and effectively, but you also don’t want to have to spend a huge chunk of cash on professional dog trainers or read yet another dog training book that doesn’t get you results.

Don’t worry, you’re NOT alone in your frustration!
