We Are Bucket Fillers!

Has your child told you about our Bucket Fillers in our room? It's based on this book by Tom Rath and Mary Reckmeyer. You can watch a video of this book by clicking play on the video below.

The premise of the book is that everyone walks around everyday with an invisible bucket. When we give and receive compliments or people notice the good things we do each day, our buckets are full. When people criticize us or do rude things to us, our buckets become emptier. Each day, we can choose to be a bucket filler or a bucket dipper.

Whenever we finish our work, or have an extra minute or two, we use that time to write bucket filler notes to each other. I love seeing all of these buckets filling up with compliments for each other! It makes my heart very happy to see all that compassion in our classroom. Keep your eyes open for these notes to come home in their DOG books throughout the year!
